Following a physical injury, a client/kiritaki may require psychological input to assist them in their recovery to achieve and maintain maximal level of health and independence in their usual daily activities and relationships.
Following a physical injury, a client/kiritaki may require psychological input to assist them in their recovery to achieve and maintain maximal level of health and independence in their usual daily activities and relationships.
Following a referral received from ACC for Psychology Service a client/kiritaki will see one of our experienced Psychologists for an initial assessment where an understanding of the client’s/kiritaki’s situation is sought, together a plan and goals are developed to assist recovery.
Psychology sessions are then undertaken, clients/kiritaki are supported and encouraged by their Psychologist to work through challenges and to move forwards Provision of education to the family and whānau of the client /kirtaki about the effects of psychological problems following injury is encouraged in order to foster strong recovery and coping strategies as part of the rehabilitation.
Follow up progress and completion reports are submitted to ACC
Clients/Kiritaki should have sufficient support in place on completion of Psychological Services programme to maintain progress made.
